It’s unrealistic to think that the first LEGO Star Wars is approaching 20 years. But even more so when you see a whole new perspective on some of the same LEGO Star Wars stories: Skywalker Saga. Time has brought about significant reforms. The latest developments from Traveller’s Tales show the most significant deviation from the well-known formulas that permeate the library of LEGO games. These gameplay changes improve the famous LEGO action-adventure gameplay and make combat, platform, and puzzle-solving ever more attractive. However, the breadth of content provided does not justify the possibility of this new direction. 

Skywalker Saga’s fundamental gameplay changes bring a new perspective. The overhead camera is replaced by a third-person view over the shoulder, allowing you to get closer to a lightsaber duel full of effects and a chaotic cantina shootout. You can control far more actions than previous Lego titles. Cover-based shooting offers more tactical options for defeating stormtroopers and advanced combos and provides more opportunities to dismantle droids with a barrage of melee attacks. 

LEGO Star Wars stories: Skywalker Saga’s difficulty is still set to make you progress. The actions are simple and airy, but the puzzles are usually just a few steps away from the solution rather than disturbing, complex obstacles. This allows you to proceed quickly, even if you are repeatedly crushing a single attack. It’s still fun to try out the new keyboard shortcuts and see the special moves from the game’s extensive character roster. However, this is not a game that requires you to remember advanced combo strings. These mechanisms are only for those who want to participate in them.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is a well-made and relatively enjoyable addition to this lengthy, lengthy series. It’s now no longer doing something extensively new with the recipe. Still, it does not want to. This is a sport approximately nostalgia, now no longer only for Star Wars but for the Lego video games themselves.
